Cheers, shouts, whistles and... three encores. That is how the concert at the festival of famous French musicians ended, with L’Arpeggiata and the counter-tenor of “an angelic voice and devilish virtuosity” – Phillipe Jaroussky. With their colourful programme, Teatro Amore, full of jazz improvisations, the artists won the hearts of the festival’s audience, which simply went crazy with admiration.
The performance of the great Bach Passion according to St. John by the legendary French conductor, Marek Minkowski, and his Les Musiciens du Louvre-Grenoble, will surely go down in history of the Misteria Paschalia Festival, as one of its most important events. Exactly 287 years from the premiere, the masterpiece of the cantor from Leipzig obtained an excellent interpretation! And probably it happened for the first time that after the piece lasting over two hours, the audience elicited an encore by a standing ovation!
